Mark Houston Recovery for Women
Women Drug Rehab Programs & Plano, Texas
If you're a non-smoker and you've been in a situation where someone was smoking in front of or near you, then perhaps
you know what it's like to feel frustrated. Even though you're not the one smoking, you are still being affected by someone else's choice to do it in front of you. The same can be said of drug abuse. If someone you know is abusing drugs, even if she isn't doing it directly in front of you, there is no doubt that you will still be affected by her choice somehow.
Women have been abusing drugs for decades now. However, it is only in recent years that critics have begun to notice that the way in which women approach drug addiction and drug abuse is entirely different than how men approach it. For instance, the reasons behind why men get involved in drug addiction versus women varies and is based on a number of factors such as relationships, self thought (or how you think about yourself), physical or emotional abuse or stress at work, etc.
At The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women, we take the issue of drug addiction in women extremely seriously. The whole basis or foundation of our rehab center is centered on recovery versus treatment. You see, recovering from drug addiction is more than just ridding your body of chemical toxins. Rather, a recovering female drug addict is left to think about past decisions that they've made. If that free time is not spent in a wise manner, then it is very easy for women addicts to relapse back into previous drug addiction tendencies. At The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women, we approach women's drug recovery by looking at the root of the problem. From medical history to family interactions, community involvement, spirituality and more, our skilled all-female staff members can put together an individualized drug recovery program as well as long-term continuum of care for recovering women drug addicts.
Drug Addiction in Women
If your boss is stressing you out at work or you're worried about something, would you try to sort through the problem by talking it out or would you pop a pill to make you more sedate? Many women turn to drug abuse as a temporary “solution” to their problems. As a result, many women wind up becoming addicted to drugs whether illicit or prescribed.
As a part of the ongoing effort to decrease drug addiction in women, The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women was designed specifically with women in mind. Here, every woman who arrives for drug rehabilitation is cared for as a member of the family. Our nurturing all female staff members and peaceful surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for women to overcome any premonitions or fears that they may have about the drug recovery process as well as the focus and discipline needed to make a full recovery from drug addiction. About Plano, Texas
Listed as the 9th largest city in the state of Texas, Plano is located just 20 miles north of downtown Dallas. As an interesting aside, the story of how the name “Plano” was chosen came about when one of the founders, Dr. Henry Dye, originally wanted to call the town Fillmore in honor of the president, Millard Fillmore. Finally Dr. Dye suggested the name of 'Plano' which he thought was the Spanish version of "plain." In reality, the word for 'plain' in Spanish is 'llano'.
