Dangers of Drunk Driving

In this day and age, many people will go out to a restaurant and not even think twice about ordering an alcoholic beverage or two and then  getting into their cars to drive home. Not only is drinking and driving dangerous for you, but it is incredibly dangerous for the other motorists and pedestrians in the area. A recent survey estimated that as many as three-fourths of adults who live in the United States think that they know their bodies well enough to be able to drive back to their home. However, many of these same people don't even have the first clue as to what the legal limit for your blood alcohol level is!

Mark Houston Recovery encourages all drivers to hand over the keys to someone who is sober and legally of age to drive. Despite the fact that you may have snuck in a couple of trips or two in your personal vehicle after drinking alcohol in which nothing happened; don't think that the next time you get behind the wheel, it will be the same story. All it takes is one bad experience of driving drunk to seriously injure yourself and/or kill someone else.

Driving Home Drunk From a Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center

In a recent news story, a father of two was caught and penalized for driving while intoxicated just minutes after he was turned away from an alcohol clinic. The father had been seeking help for his alcohol addiction; however, the clinic was full, and the staff offered to call him a cab for the six-mile trip back to his house. When the police finally caught up with him, he was over three times over the legal alcohol limit and has since lost his license for. He had tried repeatedly in the past to get help for his alcohol addiction, but to no avail. Today, the father-of two gets around by using an electric bike.

Drunk driving is and will always be a serious issue unless we work to do something about it now. If you ever find yourself in situation where someone is too drunk to drive, do your part and TAKE THE KEYS. You may just save your life as well as the lives of other innocent bystanders.

What Will Be the Plan When They Leave?

Often, you may question what happens to someone once they step outside the doors of a drug and alcohol rehab center.
