Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you only accept female residents?
Outcome studies support gender-specific recovery models. Additionally, The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women is a gender-specific rehab center that focuses on the unique needs that women who are addicted to drugs or alcohol can have. Our staff members are highly trained, knowledgeable women who have first-hand experience in dealing with the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of drug and alcohol addiction that our female residents may experience during the recovery process. Additionally, studies have shown that women feel the ability to share their experiences and feelings more openly without fear of judgment and shame because there are only women here.
Are you a licensed alcohol and drug treatment center?
A licensed facility is one that is legally regulated to provide medical care, so no, we are not medically licensed. After experiencing our own recovery, we have invented a non-clinical program to provide rehab unavailable at traditional clinical treatment and sober-living homes. We do not fit into the traditional, medical, clinical facility model and thus, are not a “licensed” medical facility. We are a recovery/spiritual center that provides a very structured and comprehensive curriculum of life skills and spiritual practices which our residents will incorporate into their daily lives to bring about permanent recovery.
What is the cost of the program?
The cost is $11,000 per month.
What if I need to stay more than 90 days?
The cost is $10,000 per month after the first three months.
When do you conduct admissions?
Time and date of admissions will be coordinated by appointment only.
Do you take insurance?
No. We are private pay only.
What sorts of qualifications do your staff members have?
All of the staff members at The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women are in recovery from alcoholism and/or drug addiction and have adopted a sober way of living. We teach from practical experience, not theory or opinion. Almost all of the staff have worked in the field of chemical dependency for many years. The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women has relationships with fine doctors and therapists if the need arises during a resident's stay. Whether you are seeking help for the first time or you have already completed drug and/or alcohol treatment and want to learn how to successfully live a sober, responsible, committed life full of promise and fun, we can help.
