Mark Houston Recovery for Women provides the next level of recovery care for women who have completed a drug rehabilitation program. After experiencing medically supervised treatment in a licensed rehab program, many women seek an interim step to immerse themselves in an instructive atmosphere of sobriety before returning to their home and work environment. The need to provide just such a sober living environment in the Austin, TX area was the reason for the establishment of our specialized recovery center.

Our goal is to provide a safe and pleasant atmosphere that successfully meets the needs of the man emerging from drug rehab treatment. Founder Mark Houston worked for many years in the field of chemical dependency and has applied that experience and knowledge in originating the highly-successful residential program at Mark Houston Recovery for Women. For a period of ninety days, the adult female alcoholic/addict who desires to recover and accomplish permanent sobriety becomes a welcomed guest and participant in our unique recovery training and self-healing process.

Assimilating the skills of permanent sobriety

Since drug rehabilitation treatment is predominantly medically oriented, often those who complete standard drug rehab programs are left wanting further real-world application of the 12 Step principles and healthy lifestyle information they have been given. Because of this, our center is geared to deliver extensive practical experience in sober living. All elements of recovery program is to instill the abilities and the values that construct a strong structure for future success after drug abuse. More than mere instructional classes, our program includes meaningful insight into leadership, discipline and the proven universal principles of goal setting, vision and intent to facilitate a new and improved way of life for our residents. There are 12 Step meetings daily, and we do the work of ALL12 Steps. This means that during their stay each participant will receive the lasting benefit of a profound spiritual experience --a transformational experience which we personally believe to be the underlying foundation of permanent recovery.
