Women Alcohol Rehab Programs Plano, Texas

The city of Plano is located within the state of Texas where there is already a high occurrence of alcohol-related deaths due to drinking and driving. Based on this information, one demographic is showing an increase in the number of people becoming addicted to alcohol: women. It has long been a known fact that women are more susceptible than men to becoming addicted to alcohol, primarily because of the difference in body composition. Research has also suggested that one possible explanation for the increasing occurrences of alcohol addiction in women is due to the fact that women achieve greater blood alcohol levels as the result of smaller doses of alcohol versus men.

At The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women, we take the issue of alcohol addiction in women extremely seriously. You no longer have to look very far before you find drug rehab programs for those suffering from alcohol addiction. However, for those women facing alcohol recovery, specialized care is not only required but is preferred apart from men who are receiving help for alcohol addiction. Why? Because men and women handle addiction differently. At The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women, we approach women's alcohol recovery by looking at the root of the problem. From medical history to family interactions, community involvement, spirituality and more, our skilled all-female staff members can put together an individualized alcohol recovery program for recovering women alcohol addicts.

Alcohol Addiction in Women Plano, TX

There is no doubt that life can sometimes be filled with stress. For women, especially, sometimes various types of stress can be too difficult to handle alone, and as a result, many women turn to alcohol as a temporary “solution” to their problems. As a result, many women wind up becoming addicted to alcohol. Alcohol addiction in women is a rising concern; and not ironically, the United States has also seen an increase in the number of women's alcohol rehab centers. For women who are addicted to alcohol, women's alcohol addiction facilities can greatly improve a woman's chances at living a life without the influence of alcohol.

As a part of the ongoing effort to decrease alcohol addiction in women, The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women was designed specifically with women in mind. At The Mark Houston Recovery Center for Women, every woman who arrives for alcohol rehabilitation is cared for as a member of the family. Our nurturing all female staff members and peaceful surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for women to overcome any fears that they may have about the alcohol recovery process as well as the focus and discipline needed to make a full recovery from alcohol addiction. About Plano, Texas

Listed as the 9th largest city in the state of Texas, Plano is located just 20 miles north of downtown Dallas. The town's name has an interesting back-story. One of the founders, Dr. Henry Dye, originally wanted to call the town Fillmore in honor of the president, Millard Fillmore. Another name bandied about was Foreman, after founder William Foreman. Finally Dr. Dye suggested the name of Plano which he thought was the Spanish version of "plain." In reality, plain in Spanish is llano. No one expected that most of the town would be destroyed by fire and many of the homes of the pioneering families were rebuilt, they still exist downtown today. This spirit of survival is one of the defining characteristics of what makes this town more than what Dr. Dye thought was simply "plain."
